Pineapple Poker – Hold’em’s Relative

It is Hold’em, with a twist. At least that’s the way you would see Pineapple Poker described on a drinks menu.

Pineapple poker is usually a tasty version of Hold’em in which gamblers each receive 3 hole cards instead of two. This obviously increases the odds that a gambler could land a high quality starting hand. So, it is possible to expect to see additional gamblers in each pot. The average succeeding hands are stronger in Pineapple than they’re in Texas hold em.

In Pineapple Poker, players don’t maintain all three of their hole cards during the entire hand. Instead, they discard one of their hole cards at a designated point in the hand.

Immediately after receiving their cards, gamblers engage in a round of betting. Now comes a choice. Several gamblers wager on the casino game using this point in the hand to decide which hole card to discard. Discarding your additional hole card prior to the flop is how to wager on the much more basic edition of the game of Pineapple.

But, since you’re spicing things up by playing something other than Hold’em in the primary place, it is possible to choose to wager on the far more common model of Pineapple Poker referred to as Nuts Pineapple. In this version, which is dealt at numerous of the internet poker rooms, gamblers keep their added hole card until following the flop is dealt.

Once the flop is dealt and the subsequent betting round is completed, Nuts Pineapple gamblers discard their added hole card.

For both the basic and the nuts versions of Pineapple Poker, the rest of the hand is wagered exactly like Texas hold’em.

This derivative of Texas holdem offers more action, using the familiar gameplay. Gamblers can use any number of hole cards, including none, to make a hand. The betting rules are the exact same, and if you wager on Texas holdem, you already know most of the system required in Pineapple Poker.

Except wait, there’s more! Unlike Texas hold em, there is a favorite hi-lo (usually referred to as eight or greater) version of the game as well. In hi-lo games, gamblers have a chance to win half of the pot by presenting the ideal qualifying low hand at the table.

What’s a qualifying low hand? It’s one with five cards with diverse ranks, all below eight (hence the name 8 or superior).
The lowest qualifying reduced hand wins half of the pot. So, players have nearly double the odds of winning.

Low hand ties are broken by reading the cards as one five digit amount, using the highest digits first. Lowest number wins. For instance, a hand of the,two,four,five,7 will be read as 75,421. A hand of a,3,four,five,six will be read as 65,431, and would win in a tie-breaker.

Insane Pineapple 8 or Better isn’t just a number of exotic homegame variety of poker, it is also dealt at several of the on-line poker rooms.

In the event you wish to liven up your home games, consider adding a couple of hands of Crazy Pineapple to the mix. It’s a break from the similar ol’ very same ol’, but since it is texas holdem-based gamblers don’t need to learn many new rules and strategies to get pleasure from it.
