Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler vs. the dealer, unlike most other poker games that players bet against other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, starting players don’t have to worry about other, more advanced gamblers winning their moolla.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card basic deck and one joker. The gambler is assigned 7 cards face up and the house is given seven cards faces hidden.

One five card hand and one 2 card hand must be put together from the 7 cards, the five card hand must be better than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the dealer’s.
